BPS Pati Regency carried out training for Producer Price Survey (SHP) officers and Producer Price Survey for Rice in Milling (SHPBG) for 3 days starting January 10-12 2024 in a hybrid manner (online and offline).
The training was opened by the Head of BPS Pati Regency, Bob Setiabudi, attended by 16 participants from BPS organic and statistical partners guided by the instructor, Dwi Siswanti.
The aim of this training is to provide material and a common understanding regarding the concept and definition of producer price surveys.
It is known that SHPBG and SHP are routine surveys carried out every month.
SHPBG aims to record rice prices, an early indicator of rice prices at the consumer level, and as an anticipatory step to maintain price stability.
Meanwhile, SHP aims to obtain producer price data in order to monitor producer prices.
From this survey, Producer Price Index (PPI) data is produced which is used as an early warning system for price fluctuations at the next price level. PPI is also used to support the preparation of the BPS balance of payments in calculating economic growth.
In 2024, the Rice Producer Price Survey in Milling will change the data collection mode, namely the PAPI (Paper and Pencil Interviewing) data collection mode to CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing). The application used to collect data is FASIH (Flexible and Authentic Survey Instrument Harmony).
In this training, apart from providing material, a test was also carried out on how to fill out the questionnaire, measuring the water content in rice and calculating the percentage of rice that was broken.
