The Central Java BPS held a Strategic Indicator Release on Monday, June 2, 2025, which was delivered by the Acting Head of the Central Java BPS, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih. The release was carried out online via the Central Java BPS YouTube streaming.
The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Central Java Province in May 2025 was recorded at 1.66 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.21. Meanwhile, there was month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation of 0.49 percent and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation was recorded at 1.06 percent. The five main commodities contributing to monthly deflation include: shallots, cayenne pepper, red chili, intercity transportation and garlic.
The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2025 was recorded at 111.67 or down 0.93 percent compared to the previous month's NTP of 112.72.
The export value of Central Java for the period January-April 2025 reached US$3,821.19 million or increased by 7.46 percent compared to the same period in 2024. In contrast, the import value was recorded at US$4,422.42 million or decreased by 6.86 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Thus, the trade balance in April 2025 experienced a deficit of US$462.13 million caused by the deficit in the oil and gas sector, while the non-oil and gas sector experienced a surplus.
The RPK of star hotels in April was 46.28 percent and non-star hotels 24.99 percent with an RLM of star hotels of 1.30 nights and non-star hotels 1.08 nights. The number of domestic tourist trips to Central Java in April 2025 reached 17.99 million trips.
The number of arrivals (disembarkations) of air passengers arriving in Central Java in April 2025 reached 139,189 people. The disembarkation of sea transport passengers in April 2025 was recorded at 49,482 people.
