Agriculture Largest Contributor to Central Java's Economic Growth 4.96%

The economy of Central Java in the first quarter of 2025 (y-on-y) was recorded to have experienced positive growth of 4.96 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries business sector which grew by 15.24 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the component that experienced the highest increase was the Export of Goods and Services Component (including Inter-Regional Exports) of 10.96 percent.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in February 2025 was 4.33 percent, down 0.06 percentage points compared to February 2024. During February 2024 to February 2025, the Manufacturing and Trade Industry business sector was the sector with the highest increase in workforce.

The Gender Inequality Index (IKG) of Central Java in 2024 was 0.308, down 0.028 points compared to 2023. The decline in gender inequality occurred in most districts/cities in Central Java. The decline in the Central Java Gender Inequality Index (IKG) was mainly influenced by improvements in the reproductive health dimension and the labor market dimension.
