The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released a number of strategic indicators, including the April 2025 Consumer Price Index today (2/5). BPS recorded the month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in April 2025 at 1.17 percent. Meanwhile, on an annual basis (year-on-year/y-on-y), inflation in April 2025 was 1.95 percent. The year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in April 2025 was 1.56 percent.

"The expenditure group contributing the largest monthly inflation was housing, water, electricity, and household fuel with inflation of 6.60 percent, contributing 0.98 percent to inflation. The dominant commodity driving inflation in this group was electricity tariffs," explained Pudji Ismartini, Deputy for Distribution and Services at BPS during a press conference at the BPS Office.
