"The Economic Census (SE) is the basis for the sampling frame for BPS survey activities and supports the transformation of the Indonesian economy towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," said Deputy for Production Statistics of BPS, M. Habibullah when giving directions to Focus Group Discussion (FGD) participants on SE2026 Draft with ministries/ institutions (K/L) in Jakarta, (29/8).

BPS Director of Distribution Statistics, Sarpono, explained that the SE was started in 1986, and 2026 will be the 5th SE. Collaboration with ministries/institutions (K/L) is expected to record the Indonesian economy through this ten-year data collection. SE2026 refers to all activities in the economic sector, except for the agricultural and forestry sectors. The goals of SE2026 include providing information related to economic structure, business characteristics and digital economic data.

After the opening, a panel discussion was held involving K/Ls discussing the availability and needs of data for which there was no data source and discussing the data structure that could be provided by K/Ls. The speakers in the panel discussion were Siti Romayah (Ministry of Investment/BKPM), Andriansyah (Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs), Hadi Pratiwi (Director General of Taxes), Deepa Wright (ABS), Sarpono and Windhiarso Ponco Adi (BPS).
