The National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN) is mandated by Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is tasked with determining data sources, compiling, managing, and updating the DTSEN.

The DTSEN is dynamic and continuously updated. In updating the DTSEN, community welfare is categorized based on various indicators, such as population identity, education, employment, housing conditions and quality, access to sanitation and drinking water, health and disability, asset ownership, and business ownership. These variables are used to categorize levels of community welfare, known as deciles.

BPS, along with relevant ministries/institutions, continues to collaborate on updating the DTSEN to ensure that the distribution of various government programs is supported by accurate, up-to-date, and reliable data.
